Hourly wage to annual salary chart

How much a year is your hourly wage? The quick rule: at 40 hours a week for 52 weeks (2,080 paid hours), your annual salary is your hourly wage times 2,080. So $20 an hour is $41,600 a year, and $25 an hour is $52,000 a year. The full chart is below. For your own hours, weeks or a part-time schedule, use the Hourly to Salary Calculator.

If you do not work 40 hours or 52 weeks

The chart assumes every week is paid. Adjust it with one multiplication: hourly wage × your hours per week × your paid weeks per year.

Part-time example: $20 an hour at 25 hours a week for 52 weeks is 20 × 25 × 52 = $26,000 a year, not the $41,600 in the chart.

Unpaid leave example: $25 an hour at 40 hours a week with 2 unpaid weeks is 25 × 40 × 50 = $50,000, not $52,000.

Gross pay, before tax

Every figure here is gross pay. Take-home pay is lower after tax and deductions, and the gap depends on your country and circumstances. If you are comparing an hourly offer with a salaried one, read hourly pay vs salary: how to compare them fairly first, because paid leave and benefits change the comparison.
